Objective
The goal was to offset a percentage of the client’s Hydro bill.
The Solution
Working with the customer, we installed a 2.4kw grid-tie solar PV system that utilizes micro-inverters. The system will offset 25-30% of their hydro bill. There is also online real-time monitoring of the array down to each individual micro-inverter.
Energy Generated
Less than one year after installation, the system has produced a total of 2.8 Megawatt hours. How much is 1 Megawatt hour? It is equivalent to powering 40 homes for one day, or to burning 250 pounds of coal. This amount of solar-generated energy also prevents 1300 pounds of carbon dioxide from being released into the atmosphere.
