Salt Spring Island – Solar Carport
This developing permaculture farm wanted to offset some of the energy consumption in their daily operations. With a goal of net neutrality in the future.
We assessed the property for the ideal location for a solar array. We picked a spot that has optimal solar potential and is aesthetically pleasing. We offered a practical solution that offset 60% of the energy they consume and at the same time will offer shelter for animals and farm equipment. The result is an 11kw solar carport, connected to an SMA inverter. The array is wired for high voltage to accommodate the long cable run back to the inverter in the power shed.
